Information Security Analyst

The Security Analyst positions primary responsibilities will include safeguarding Cobalt Benefits Groups information assets and infrastructure against potential security threats.
Including monitoring of the MDR system, activity log reviews, alert response, and system vulnerability patching.
Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe Information Security Analyst can expect to be responsible for the following duties daily:
Conduct thorough vulnerability assessments and risk analyses to identify potential security threats and weaknesses in the organization's systems, networks, and applications.
Monitor security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software, to detect and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
Stay updated with the latest security technologies, trends, and best practices to proactively identify emerging threats and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
Responsible for patch management for the organization.
Perform security audits and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of existing security controls and policies, making recommendations for improvement where necessary.
Investigate and respond tosecurity incidents, conduct forensic analysis and provide incident response support to minimize the impact of security breaches.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT professionals, developers, and executives, to implement security measures and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Develop and maintain documentation, including security policies, procedures, and incident reports.
Facilitate security awareness training for employees, promoting a culture of security and ensuring compliance with security protocols.
Participate in incident response exercises and help develop incident response plans to effectively handle security incidents.
o Bachelor's degree in computer science, or Information Technology or 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
o 3-5 years' work experience as a Security Analyst or in a similar role with a deep understanding of information security principles, practices, and technology.
o Solid knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and security tools.
o Experience with vulnerability assessment tools, penetration testing, and incident response procedures.
o Familiarity with industry standard security frameworks such as MITRE, NIST 800-171, etc.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex security issues and provide practical solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with different stakeholders and present technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and integrity.
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritizing effectively to meet deadlines.
